Handmade Surprise- Umba Box Review and Promo

I was introduced to Umba Box from Lauren Elizabeth Blog and The Small Things Blog, and have been wanting to sign up for this wonderful box ever since. I was over-the-top excited when I was contacted by Umba Box to review on of their monthly boxes. Of course, I said yes, and could not wait to see what was included.

What is Umba Box?
Umba Box was curated because the founders love and are passionate about handmade goods. However, they found that it was sometimes hard to find beautiful quality handmade products. In October 2011 Umba Box was born. Umba Box  is a monthly subscription that sends out 2-3 handmade surprises, from artists who create wonderfully made handmade jewelry, accessories, stationary, and bath products.

Cost: $25 per month

Stay Tuned at the end of this post for a special Tickled Pink in the Rain reader promo/discount code to get $5 off your first Umba Box!

September Umba Box

I was so excited to see this box in the mail, and I ripped into it right away. Coming home to a box I am excited for after work, is the best way to end a day.

Natasha J. Collection

Ceramic Half Moon Necklace -$30

This is beautifully crafted by Natasha at Natasha J. Collection. The Half Moon necklace comes in other colors, but I received the Patina color, which I think is beautiful.  Each item that is included in the Umba Box also includes a profile card so you can get to know the story behind each artist.  The Natasha J. Collection is really beautiful; you can see more of her pieces on her website HERE

Fox & Anchor Paper

Black Bow Coasters- $8

Fox & Anchor is a collaborated team of ladies Chelsey and Erin, who have a love for custom letterpress, and the products they have created show it.  Fox & Anchor not only creates lovely coasters, but also  some beautiful handmade cards as well. I love this Dots and Heart card.

TICKLED PINK OPINION:   I really love handmade goods. There is just something special about receiving something that someone has made by hand. And, as someone who loves DIY projects, I know how much time it takes to make some of these handmade items.  I really appreciate the creativity and time it takes to make each item.  The total value of this box was about $38, and the monthly cost to subscribe to Umba Box is $25, so the value and quality of items received in this Umba Box was excellent.  Each box that comes from Umba Box to your doorstep each month is different,  and a surprise, which makes getting a box like this each month really exciting.

August Poppy Parcel Review

This is my third month of Poppy Parcel and I have enjoyed each box. I think this box is a little different than other boxes, because Poppy Parcel includes a variety of items in each box. I never know what to expect in each Poppy Parcel. The future for Poppy Parcel seems a little up in the air since Poppy Parcel is currently looking for new owners . I am anxiously waiting to see what the future will hold for this subscription.

What is Poppy Parcel?
Poppy Parcel is a monthly subscription that sends out special treats (3-4 to be exact) for the everyday ordinary girl. Very simple concept, but the box is full of great items, for just $19.99 a month.

August Poppy Parcel

Nail Butter by Nail Butter- $20

These are great to help nails in strengthening and moisture. It is great for nails and cuticles.  My nails definitely could use some strengthening any day of the week.

Especially Paper Lemon Tag Pack- $2

I am not sure what I am going to use these for yet, but I am sure they will get used with some crafty project. This also came with a credit for $8.50 for a digital downloadable banner from Especially Paper.

Counter Couture Strawberry Tea Towel -$10

This is a super cute towel. We can always use nice towels for the kitchen, so we definitely will get our use out of this.

Coupons

Poppy Parcel also added in two little cards for 20 % off at LisaBarbero.com, which sells professional prints,  and  20% off at Brown Pigeon, which sells handcrafted stamps.

TICKLED PINK OPINION: Poppy Parcel always is such a whirl wind of different items. This month the value of this Poppy Parcel was around $32, not including the credit to Especially Paper. I always like to see when the values of the products in a box exceed what you pay for the box. This month’s Poppy Parcel box was not my favorite compared to past Poppy Parcel boxes, but I still enjoyed it.  I cannot wait to see what the future holds for Poppy Parcel, and if I can look forward to a September Box.

Until next time
